Overview

A capable state is fundamental to the social, economic and political development of a country. Leading with a vision to drive sustainable systemic socio-economic impact in communities through the design and delivery of projects, the Impact Catalyst demonstrates expertise in spatial planning and government capability support.

As a collaborative platform, the Impact Catalyst is a trusted partner to the Office of the Premier in Limpopo, Mpumalanga and Northern Cape which has positioned the organisation as a facilitator between government and private sector.  

Through spatial planning and government capability support, the organisation is committed to contributing to the improvement of service delivery, enhancing South Africa’s public sector performance and accountability.

Since inception, the organisation through the Spatial Planning and Government Capability Department, has a track record of driving a common agenda between communities, government and private sector in the Limpopo province with a vision to collectively strengthen institutional capacity in the areas of policy development, planning, budgeting, designing, implementing, monitoring, evaluating and reporting of projects in all spheres of government (national, provincial and municipal).

Part of what we do is to assist government institutions modernise business processes through the development of Integrated Monitoring Systems, Digital Reporting Systems and other platforms with spatially located data to enhance public sector planning and monitoring and evaluation

What we can do for you

Regional Development Planning and Government Planning Support 

 Supporting the governmental planning processes enabling integration with the private sector, data driven decision support and scenario and future planning into the following planning process: 

  • Provincial Economic Development Plans;
  • Provincial Spatial Development Plans;
  • District One-Plan;
  • Municipal Integrated Development Plans;
  • Municipal Spatial Development Plans;
  • Social and Labour plan support and Regional Integration.

Strengthening provincial regional development capability, including: 

  • Driving strategic planning, collaboration, budgeting, resource allocation and project alignment through providing technical assistance as well as, augmenting existing capacity (through providing additional resources) for significant regional development plans and instruments. 
  • Supporting regional development and stakeholder involvement processes through strategic guidance (participating in a range of steering committees and governance structures), technical and facilitation support, as well as awareness raising amongst industry partners for collaboration in relevant processes. 
  • Soliciting inputs and providing strategic inputs to regional development processes and plans such as the relevant District Development Plans, a wide range of infrastructure and integrated development plans, ensuring increased collaboration with and support for industry driven developmental initiatives. 
  • Supporting government and industry partners with regard to improved access to evidence and systems for collaborative planning, implementation, and investment alignment(in time and space.

Infrastructure Development Support 

  • Strengthen government capability to enable better infrastructure planning and management through technical assistance, augmenting capability, technical training and mentoring. 
  • Facilitate the augmentation of infrastructure development and project management capability.
  • Support government service delivery.
  • Enable improved service delivery by utilising a unique approach to government capability development.

Limpopo Road Safety Programme

The Limpopo Road Safety Programme, an initiative funded by Anglo American and implemented in collaboration with CSIR and the Limpopo Provincial Government, aims to reduce road vehicle & pedestrian accidents and fatalities in the province, an objective that strives to address the SDG on good health and well-being.
