Established through an Act of Parliament in 1945, the CSIR operates under the executive authority of the Minister of Higher Education, Science and Innovation. World Vision comprises numerous national offices worldwide, all working together towards a shared vision: life in all its fullness for every child. Collectively, these offices are referred to as the "World Vision Partnership," though this is not a legal partnership. Established in 1977,World Vision International provides global coordination for the Partnership, ensuring adherence to global standards and policies, and serves as the implementing entity in several countries. The organization’s global coordination functions are known as the “Global Centre,” with staff based in offices around the world. The President and many senior executives are located near London.

Support offices within the Partnership focus on fundraising to support World Vision programs globally. These programs are implemented locally by field offices that collaborate with local agencies and community members, inspiring them to join efforts in transforming the lives of vulnerable children.

The World Vision International board of directors sets Partnership standards, while the Council, its highest governing body, makes fundamental decisions. Many support offices and field offices also have their own national governing bodies.

World Vision International is incorporated as a religious non-profit corporation under the laws of the State of California, USA, and is recognized as a tax-exempt organization by the relevant tax authorities in the United States and other countries.
