Projects aimed at providing internet connectivity to rural schools in South Africa address the critical issue of limited internet access, which is essential for modern education and effective school administration. The Internet can significantly enhance the quality of education in numerous ways.
The project aims to implement school Wi-Fi and community hotspots in areas where Exxaro has operations, including Belfast, Matla, and Lephalale. Additionally, the initiative includes establishing ICT labs at 20 schools to support digital learning and access.
The project focuses on providing and installing ICT labs in schools across the Northern Cape, aiming to bridge the digital divide in rural school communities by ensuring internet access and supplying ICT devices. This initiative aligns with efforts to enhance digital literacy and access to technology in underserved areas.
