Limpopo Province, located in northern part of South Africa, is rich in cultural diversity, agriculture, and mineral resources but faces challenges such as unemployment, limited rural infrastructure, and socio-economic development needs.
In response to these challenges and opportunities, the Impact Catalyst—born in Limpopo—has emerged as a driving force for change. In partnership with Anglo American, Exxaro, and the Limpopo Department of Agricultural and Rural Development, the Impact Catalyst has worked closely with the Office of the Premier (OTP) to address critical development issues in the province. The collaboration led to the signing of the first official Memorandum of Understanding (MOU), setting the foundation for coordinated efforts to uplift communities.
Key to the Impact Catalyst’s success has been its ability to leverage funding from Social and Labour Plans (SLPs), ensuring that high-impact regional projects deliver lasting benefits across health, education, enterprise, and agriculture.
As a result, some of the flagship project the Impact Catalyst and its partners has been driving in Limpopo include revitalising the Zebediela Citrus Estate, expanding ICT infrastructure in mining communities, enhancing healthcare and road safety.
By aligning efforts with the provincial government and leveraging funding from Social and Labour Plans, the Impact Catalyst drives sustainable development and unlocks the province's potential, fostering hope and progress in under served communities.
